Next year is finally here.
With football stumbling through it's season, some fans attention may
turn to our basketball team to fill the Mean Green void left in
their life. The NT basketball team has suffered through some
pretty rough times over the past few years. After Vic
Trilli left this program in complete anarchy , it has been tough for
North Texas to bounce back .
I see those fans that have stuck with the team much like Chicago Cubs
fans. We feel cursed at times, but we won't quit following the
team under ANY circumstances. The hardcore Mean Green fan knows that
help is coming next season.

Roderick Fleming is staying with the North Texas basketball program. After brief rumors that he was headed to a junior college for the opportunity of early playing time, he has decided to stick around Denton. This will allow him to keep three full years of eligibility after his transfer year. The DRC is also reporting that the Mavs are inching closer to finalizing the deal that would bring Dirk and Co. to The Pit.

The Denton Record Chronicle is reporting that after only 1 year, assistant basketball coach Jai Steadman is leaving the program. Additionally, Curtis Muse will not be sporting a Mean Green jersey this season, as he has been ruled ineligible. His teamate from Mineral Area Community College, Jonathan Jackson, is still slated to report. Losing Muse will obviously be a hit to the program's depth in the paint.

The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks are in talks with North Texas to reach an agreement that would place the Mavericks in Denton for the first 5 days of training camp. This would obviously give a little extra exposure to our university and it's basketball facility. Hopefully more details are released soon.
