Something tells me there will be a ceremony of some sort to commemorate last season.  I doubt the banner will just be up when folks stroll into the Colesium.

I could obviously be wrong.

Vito sort of verified that schedule, but advised me to hold off on making travel arrangements until the official schedule is released.

Now if Oklahoma Panhandle is our true opener, I can prolly fly in for that one(Banner raising!!!!), Cameron and the Navy football game.  On the other hand if it's an Exhibition - I can fly in for Cameron(banner), Navy, and OSU(Yes!!).

I don't think I could get enough time off(or afford the finacial hit) for OPS thru OSU.  Holding pattern until Johnny finalizes things....

The fact that there's something like 17K bridges that have the same rating(or lower) than the one in the Twin Cities was a bit worrisome.

But generally I agree.  I think in general we worry too much about everything in society.  I'm guilty of it as well at times.  But the time we're living in is the safest in history really.  And yet we are in a panic over any and all health scares, or lead paint on toys, etc..

Nov 6......Oklahoma Panhandle St
Nov 9......Cameron
Nov 13....Oklahoma St
Nov 21....@ UTA
Nov 30....Western New Mexico @ Las Cruces NM
Dec 1......@ New Mexico St
Dec 5......@ Texas
Dec 20.... Centenary

This according the Buford on the other board.  I'm wondering if OPS is an Exhibition.

Yeah, I knew theus left, but I expect them to be comperable to last season.  I don't think they were that senior orientated last season, but I'm not positive on that.

Should be a tough one.  They were a solid squad last year, and gave Texas a good game in the Dance.

The Angels are by far the class of that division, but the Rangers are slowly building a reserve of talent.  I think they should improved next season - but in 2-3 years they might be MUCH improved.

The other inductee, soccer studette Christy Johnson....might be our best women's soccer player.......ever. She was awesome.

Agreed, I saw her play several times when I was in school.  It was always obvious she was the "go to" player.

Also Bennie Rutherford, who looking at his stats seemed like a helluva player back in the day.

I traded emails with Brett Vito.  Apparently our schedule is just about done except for a game or two around Christmas.  So with any luck we should see the final schedule within acouple of weeks.

Well, as much as SMU and TCU don't like us, they'd really hate losing to UTA.

Well allegedly RV wants to take us as far away from Eagles as possible, which is why I originally heard the "Son of Worm" wasn't going to be on the helmet.  But as I said...meangreengear has NUMEROUS clothing items with it(not to mention that was the logo we got CBS to use for us in the tourney), so that just strikes me as false.

Maybe you're right.  NORTH TEXAS on the helmet could very well be a RV thing.

I've also used the ignore feature before on at least 2 posters.  I think they're currently off of it though.

The interlocked NT thing is also VERY old - good call.  But half of that problem is that RV isn't putting the new SOW on the helmets - which much like the Flying Worm would be pretty recognizable after a few years of use.

Many schools do have Eagle mascots, but I can't remember one that actually has a logo on a D1 helmet.  Southern Miss doesn't.  Nor does Boston College.

We were sure pimping the new Eagle logo during the basketball run last year.  Despite my initial Day 1 reaction, I do think it is very sharp.  I just don't know why Rick or whoever is so against it on the helmet.  I mean they have it plastered on all sorts of clothing/memorobilia items that they're selling on that Meangreengear site.

Yeah that was some quality scheduling.

I just checked, you're right about SFA and Nicholls.  We've already gone home and home with them.
30  The Pit / Mens Basketball / Re: We play at UTA next season on: July 27, 2007, 06:09:21 PM
Good call on both of those.  I'm sure they were home and homes.  That's probably six of our OOC games.

We were at Nicholl's last year.  I don't recall if we had them at home the year before....
