16  The Pit / General Sports Talk / Re: THSCA Convention on: July 29, 2007, 03:40:17 PM
Aaron casually mentions a blog entry here, but more attention should be made to it.  Notice in the main menu there is now a section entitled "blog".  You can also reach here by typing in blog.meangreenhoops.com

This will have the content on the Front Page, but will also include non-basketball items as well - not always NT related.

The blog will be an evolving idea - so if you have any great ideas for it and would like to put something on it - holla.

I really don't think it would look good on a helmet IMO.

You are right though, it was around a lot during the bball run.  I still want a pair of those shorts.

Good discussion here.  All the threads mentioned above are beatings - so much so that I have drastically decreased my postings there compared to several years ago. Free time has a factor in that as well though.

As many of you know, I battled pretty hard for the logo stuff - but I wear the new logos now with regularity because I love gear with my school on it.  .  I love the new green (never had a problem with that).

I am not asking for names, but has anyone utilized the ignore feature on anyone?

There is never a good reason why the other 'plex teams can't have an annual series.  A 4 team tourney.
20  The Pit / General Sports Talk / Re: This could be huge - NBA ref involved with gambling on: July 20, 2007, 10:48:25 PM
NBA officiating has always seemed shady to me, and this will only further that thought with the public.
21  The Pit / General Sports Talk / Re: Football 101: Passing on: July 17, 2007, 08:42:15 PM
I like this stuff.   This may seem silly, but it seems to be the idea is to get the defenders crossed up in assignments - is that the goal here?

Also, I don't see the back running routes on these plays - a little on how the back will be used in Dodge's offense would be super.

I didn't even know you were supposed to tip Sonic carhops until I dated one.  I completly agree and find that I tend to go throught the Sonic Drive Thru when available to stay away from the weird feeling of not tipping them for rollerskating.

A constant topic on The Ticket's Gay or Not Gay is the male carhop.

That has only happened to me once and it left me scratching my head as well.

The other waiter trick I despise is not giving you any ones for your change, but only $5's.
24  The Pit / General Sports Talk / Re: Football 101: Belly on: July 14, 2007, 07:28:44 PM
I am a fan of the belly option.  I think a high school that can pull this play off well can get some major yards.
25  The Pit / General Sports Talk / Re: Football 101: Trap on: July 12, 2007, 10:09:33 PM
Ohhh.........I like this stuff.  Nice read.......informative.  I would like to do this for bball sometime and have possible have an animation to go with it.

Requests.............hmmm.  I seem to remember something like "cross blocking" - Am I making this up?  I am getting pretty old and I might be inventing things here.  Assuming I do remember a "cross block" -   I wasn't a big fan of it - seems it took too long.

I say postseason or nothing.  (not SBC tournament)
27  The Pit / General Sports Talk / Re: Football early commits on: July 11, 2007, 08:01:27 PM
So far you have to be pretty excited about them. The payoff for football recruiting takes quite a few years though.  I truly think we can compete at a high level in the Belt THIS year.  OOC will come in once Dodge gets his guys.
28  The Pit / Mens Basketball / Re: The Shootout ain't what it used to be on: July 08, 2007, 04:45:00 PM
I suppose I don't know what it used to be.  The teams bweing spread out and there being not so gifted teams I thought was just part of it.

The great teams playing in Carrollton is a real shame.  The highlight games should be in The Pit.

Are the championship games on Monday?  I figure certainly that some really good talent will be in those games.

Interesting list Cooley.  Baylor sure seems to be on the radar a lot of these recruits.

I am probably out on the shootout this year due to my boards coming up.  Which is a shame because I simply love the event.

Bring back a nice report SUMG.
