Is it that we can't afford to buy out Tina's contract???? (since we're buying out DD's)

Supposedly Coach S has one year left. Well, she had one year left (during the 2005-2006) season. All that had to happen to get two more years:

She scheduled a bunch of ligthweights in OOC....got her team's record up to 12-2 at one point, and RV jumped at the opportunity to sign her up for two more years. The team fizzled, finishing 19-9 and losing in the first round of the SBC tourney.

Anyway, I hate to see us treat women's hoops like a non-revenue sport. It doesn't have to be that way.

But, it's pretty obvious, that RV isn't going to make a change for next year.

So, all Tina has to do....win 18 or more....not even make the NCAA or WNIT and she's probably back again in 2008-2009...

The vicious cycle continues.............

I sadly admit after last year I was onboard with the extension.  She should be gone.

It is time for her to be gone. I can't imagine us buying out the contract. People just don't care enough for womens basketball to become vocal about it like they did with football.

I can't imagine us giving her a contract extension now unless we are tourney bound. Honestly, a conference championship should be the standard for every sport as long as we are in the Belt. I know that is a lofty goal, but with our geography compared to our Belt brothers, we should be able to win the conference with regularity.

There are at least 3 schools in our region, where at times, in the last 10-15 years, Women's B-Ball was more popular than Men's.

I don't know why we don't recognize that money and great publicity can be garnered from this sport. Remember Baylor.....two years ago???

BTW....good luck to MTSU and ULL in the women's NCAA tourney....

And UTA is gonna be playing just up the street from me at the Galen Center in Round 1.  I'm pulling for MTSU...tho they have a hellish draw.
