So, here we are a year after a NCAA tournament appearance....and we've signed Ben Knox and now have a commitment from this kid. No offense intended, but we're still at the point where we're battling FIU, ULM and UALR for a kid? That's all I need to know.
JJ's mind must be more on getting the LSU gig....here's the story;


Arkansas-Fort Smith Junior College point guard Dominique Johnson has committed to North Texas. I just got off the phone with second p_layer_ to commit to the Mean Green for its next recruiting class.

Johnson also had offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Florida International and Arkansas-Little Rock. He was a second-team all-conference selection.

Johnson will fill UNT's need for a second ball-handler to allow Josh White to play off the ball next season.

Well, I guess you could say we beat out the Division champions for a kid?

Honestly, I'm not sure how to take this signing. We can't really have a starting backcourt that small can we? Or is he purely a backup?

But let me add.....a welcome home to Dominique Johnson. I hope he proves us all wrong. Didn't we have some questions about Josh's height at first too?

I didn't...because I've seen plenty of guys that size get the job done.

I'm much more concerned with the fact that JJ has one signee and one commitment and neither one of them even averaged 10 ppg.

I think the most important issue is that we haven't addressed our needs. Wooden and Q's absence will be felt.

Johnson spelling Josh. Tristan able to come in for Collin or Adam. Mangrum might be a good sub too. Kedrick & Justin both can steal minutes in the frontcourt.

We definitely need more size, but I still think we're gonna be dangerous given what we have coming back.
