DFW Private Schools 5 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 7
The talent level at these schools have dramatically improved in such a short period of time. Pressey at ESD is special. I had a chance to see Arlington Grace Prep in a warmup game last night against Dallas Lincoln.

AGP will have as much or more talent than most schools next year! A&M has already secured the commitment of the top guard In 2011 (Jamel Branch) AGP also has the best big man prospect in the class of 2012 in 7-0 Isaac Austin. Guys, put an Afro on this kid and he looks just like a 15 year old Lew Alcindor (Kareem). This kid can play and looks like a Diaper Dandy right now.

Phil Pressey's team won the state title last weekend. Here's hoping AGP will bring another title to DFW in the private classification.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

I like the idea of lil' Kareem. AGP is the new Power High, I guess.

Attended the TAPPS state tournament games in Mansfield this weekend. (Legacy, Timberview & Summit High Schools) also girls regional finals (Irving McArthur & Cedar Hill) in Ft Worth.

Grace lost at the buzzer (40 footer) to an equally talented Houston Second baptist team. PA annoucer said that AGP's soph I. Austin is 7-1. Did not dissapoint as Kansas' assistant Danny Manning looked on. I'm sure he was also scouting 2nd Baptist phenom LJ Rose (soph)

Plano Prestonwood came back to catch TCA for the 5-A title. If you guys get a chance, check out 6-8 freshman point guard (yes!) Julius Randall. Without exaggeration, a better looking Magic Johnson!!! 6-10 Zach Peters is a very good looking soph power forward.

Man, I've been sleeping on these top privates. Off to Austin for the girls this weekend and boys the following week.

Congratulations Mean Green!

Mild upset back in the public school ranks, (UIL) as over 4,000 witnessed an overtime thriller @
Ellis Davis Fieldhouse in Oak Cliff last night.

Dallas Pinkston upended Dallas Lincoln 61-60 in the first of a double-header. Missouri signee Tony Mitchell scored the tying basket with about 20 seconds to take the game into OT. The doubleheader featured the top 3 players in the DISD. ( 6-7 junior LeBryan Nash of Lincoln, 6-8 junior Jarion Henry of Dallas Kimball and 6-8 Tony Mitchell of Pinkston.)

Mitchell's line for the night was 25 pts, 20 rbs, 7 blks & 3 stls against top 10 ranked Lincoln.
Showdown this Friday @ Garland's Special Events Center between #2 Lancaster Tigers vs #3 Kimball Knights in the Region 2 4-A Semi-Finals. The winner should advance to Austin to take on the #1 ranked team in the country (Jack Yates High of Houston, Tx) lead by Providence signee Joseph Young & WKY commit Brandon Peters.

Get out and catch some of the best HS hoops the state has to offer!

Plano Prestonwood duo update:

Zack Peters announced at a press conference last week that he has committed to Kansas. Not sure how much longer the junior to be will Play high school ball. Speculation is that he is already 18. Can anyone say the next J'Misson Morgan situation!

Phenom Julius Randle (2013 class) was recently tabbed as the #1 prospect In the country by a respectable publication. (Magic Johnson II)
