I popped back on GMG.com today to read about the Dawson situation and, outside of a well-played joke about RV and pizza, found it to be the same nuclear wasteland of human thought and reason that we all know and love.

Is anyone with a pulse discussing this or the impact of the situation? I have no desire to rake anyone through the coals or wallow in finger pointing at the expense of tragedy, but it seems like this should at least be discussed somewhere in a rational manner.

That said, we have no desire to tackle it on the blog (believe it or not, we don't run a gossip tabloid and hit the keyboard every time we hear bad news, you senile, mentally-challenged GMG mouth-breathers) and think other reasonable folks may share this sentiment, but just thought I'd ask here.

Won't be offended if everyone ignores this - especially with all the excitement of a Spring Game and more hoops being just...sigh...7 months away.

I don't see it affecting the team, as he was no longer a member, but it's a sad situation for sure. The limited amount of details out there paint a confusing explanation of the events leading up to his death. Had the story been him purchasing marijuana it might make sense, but driving to Lewisville/Dallas to sell? One thing people need to, but can't seem to, realize is the fact that he was killed selling/purchasing weed does not make Germaine a horrible drug dealer. It makes him a college kid who's bad call led to an untimely end. It could happen to anyone.

Also thanks for prompting me to read the GMG discussion on dealing drugs. I've now got a tired headache and a palm print on my forehead.

It can be a beating. Hell Emmitt is my best friend going back to High School, and even his policeman "holier than thou" stuff was making me roll my eyes.

It is a sad situation for sure. I pretty much try to leave it alone because of the nature of the crime.
