He doesn't know what conference we are in, but he knows enough to criticize.
Addio, Giovanni
Digging into the recent Giovanni Vizza transfer to Texas A&M reveals some interesting conclusions based upon logical facts.
Vizza said he didn’t like the direction the football program was going. He was allowed out of his UNT scholarship if he didn’t transfer to another Southland Conference school — and here’s the interesting part — or to any future UNT opponent.
Before deciding where to transfer, Vizza had to have been told which non-conference schools were not future UNT intersectional opponents.
Under Villareal/Dodge, intersectional opponents have been mostly national powers that pulverized UNT. Conclusion: It appears the school’s main objective remains not winning, but instead getting that fat game-day check for the athletic program.
I’d want out of a program like that, too.
Recently, UNT has been triumphantly announcing the latest football oral commitments. Don’t get your hopes up, folks: A closer look reveals not one of them is listed on Rivals.com Texas state top 100 list or more ominously, the local area top 100.
Looks like more of the same “Dodge Ball” wherever the home games are played. My earlier suggestion — arrive at future UNT football home games wearing a paper bag over one’s head — has even more merit.
