The article is about LeBron going to the Nets if he opts out of his contract in 2010, but it mentions his 5 favorite cities and Dallas is one of them. I've wondered what it would take for the Mavs to get LeBron and if Cuban would go all out to get him. I'm assuming that we are going to trade Kidd or at least not resign him after his contract expires after next season, which would free up a ton of room. Finley and Shawn Bradley are off the books after this past season, which is a big help. The bads news is that the Mavs have 4 big contracts already for the 2010-11 season, Dirk, Terry, Howard and Dampier. I'm fine with Dirk and maybe Howard if he reproves himself, but those Terry and Dampier contracts are just killers.
It'll be interesting to see how the LeBron sweepstakes plays out as we get closer. If Cuban can pull something out of his hat to team LeBron and Dirk up, I would be pretty pleased.
