What do you think? Will it happen by 2010?

It's funny, on the other board...we have some current students and recent grads who really think so.

But unfortunately....all of the big money donors...never give me any hope. Nor did Gretchen Bataille, when I saw her at the President's Council event in late June.

I was told by someone on campus...that RV has several million dollar donors lined up....but they're not giving the money, until the student fee passes.

Sorry, but that makes my BULLSHIT METER go berserk.

If we are, here in 2008...and the only way that we can possibly build a stadium is with a student fee....I'm not sure we deserve to be in the FBS (Division I-A). Oh, I'm not against a student fee. But to be held hostage by that.....I'm not sure I believe it. As a matter of fact, if a lot of the "stadium is gonna happen" stuff is coming out of RV's mouth...I know I don't believe it.

I'm thinking from the time we break dirt it'll be about 2 years. My guess is 2011.

I'm pretty optimistic.

I believe never until I see something that proves otherwise. I have been burned too many times before by getting my hopes up.

I never really thought it would happen before, so I guess I never "got burned". And now I do think it'll happen. The skeptic becomes the optimist.

Also some guy posted today that one way that they are trying to get other students excited about the new stadium is by making it extremely ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY. They're wanting to make it the "greenest" stadium ever (solar energy, a parking lot where grass can grow through the pavement).

Oh, shit. For the love of God, I get so freaking tired of hearing about green this, green that, save the planet....blah, blah, blah.

So put some f##king solar panels on the new stadium. Those look like crap, btw.

And a parking lot where grass can grow through the pavement.

Maybe a windmill in the freaking end zone. Or instead of hedges like they have at Georgia...we could have rows of corn that could then be turned into ETHANOL. Praise the Lord!

Do you really think that other schools that are big time college football (OU, Florida, Ohio State, etc).....do you really think that if they needed a new stadium or even an addition or renovation...do you really think the utmost concern to them would be making the stadium the "greenest one ever?"

Typical UNT horse manure.
