I saw parts of several games today. There were a lot of college coaches there (mostly assistants---didn't see any recognizable head coach while I was there).
Saw a p_layer_ who I liked in one game: Jeremiah Ford, Arlington Sequin. He was only....6'5 at most. But the kid just made plays...he always seemed to be around the ball. I think he just graduated....so he could be signed (or walkon) at some place this fall...
One thing that bugs me about the GASO. You'd think that having 3,000 high school hoopsters (mostly from Texas)...with most of the better ones playing on our campus....you'd think we could recruit Texas high school basketball p_layer_s....better than we do.
I mean, come on. Ben Knox? Back to back p_layer_s from Howe?
I mean, we got Tristan Thompson, a Texas kid....but we got him by way of a New Hampshire Academy---not straight out of Texas. As a matter of fact most of our Texas p_layer_s....probably come here as jucos...or come back as transfers--not straight out of Texas high school.
I don't get that. SFA and UTA recruit better out of Texas high schools than we do.
You'd think with the GASO in Denton every year...we'd take better advantage of it.
