I will play. No I would give it about a c+. It did contain Watson but the highlight was Mark Wilson a first team juco All American that left the team before the start of the season and Shawson Johnson. Shawson was a heck of a p_layer_ but giving a p_layer_ a two year ship for playing one semester was very strange. The class also contained jucos Michael Jones and Marcus Mitchell who contributed. This is a good example of a class that I would have rated much higher in the recruiting year than in hindsight.

Actually my example should have been 2004 which would have been the class that just completed eligibility. That class was Kendrick Davis, Michael Sturns and Quincy Williams. I would give that class a B both when recruited and after. Williams and Davis were both solid contributors and Sturns probably had as much talent as any recent recruits. It would have been very interesting if Sturns would have stayed for his final year.

Yeah, that 2004 class was quite good. All 3 of those guys were solid contributors for multiple seasons. I wish Sturns had been more of a team p_layer_, but he helped us alot during the championship season. Q was one of my favorite p_layer_s the last few years amd Kendrick was one of our most clutch guys I can think of.

I'm trying to remember...which class had Rich? Was that 2005?

2002 - Sam Byrd, Michael DeGrate, Scott Roniger, Ty Thomas, Ron Harris, Shawnson Johnson
2003 - Mike Jones, Calvin Watson, Mark Wilson, Marqus Mitchell
2004 - Isaac Hines, Jeffery Simpson, Quincy Williams, Michael Sturns, Kendrick Davis
2005 - Lionel Brown, Justin Howerton, Harold Edwards, Harold Stewart, Rich Young, Keith Wooden
2006 - Ben Bell, Johnathon Jackson, Curtis Muse, Collin Mangrum, Collin Dennis, Rod Flemings
2007 - Josh White, Ryan McCoy, Adam McCoy, Tristan Thompson, Kedrick Hogans, Dez Willingham, George Odufuwa
2008 - Eric Tramiel, Dominique Johnson, Ben Knox

Anyone want to say this doesn't look like JJ's worst class so far? The APR hit hurts significantly as one more impact p_layer_ would strengthen things out significantly...but 2 JUCOs and a major project is not what I would've imagined for this season's class.

Of course...this class is just "on paper" so far...and "on paper" the 2002 and 2006 classes looked amazing...and perhaps the most understated, 2004, proved to be the best. Here's hoping!

My Ranking -
1. 2004
2. 2007
3. 2003
4. 2006 (simply b/c the jury is still out on Collin Mangrum)
5. 2005 (less star power than 2002, but it did bring in 2 four year contributors)
6. 2002
7. 2008
