It's great to, once again, be in a league, where our NCAA rep has won a game (now two).

It's been a while. I think the last time, we were in a conference where the rep won a NCAA tourney game---1985...I think La. Tech (with Karl Malone) won a 1st round game. I think...not totally sure.

Also, it will be so neat...when you see those "How The Conferences Fared" lists in the paper...it'll be so neat, for it not to say:

Western Kentucky has made me really proud to be in the Belt. While they are a somewhat arrogant fanbase - if anyone deserves to be it's them. Did anyone catch the stat during the game or most 20 win seasons all time? Western is 6th! The schools ahead of them were UK, UNC, Kansas, Duke, and UCLA(if I recall correctly). Holy shit...I'd be arrogant with that sorta tradition too.

If they can keep this sorta momentum in the future it'd be great for the league. Look at what Gonzaga has done for the WCC over the last decade. They got THREE schools in the Dance this year!

Yeah...so I'm gonna go ahead and put a hedge on the "Green Guy Bass is a douchebag" line of thinking. First, he is a friend...and as such, very un-douchey. Second, he works for all of our favorite sports talk/fart joke radio station...and he makes it a point in everyone of his broadcasts to hype up UNT...putting him in the small class of people in our local media who cares about our school.

He does indeed. That being said, I am sure he knows about being kicked in the nuts a few times when friends disagree. Who doesn't love to hear a good Hardline argument on the Ticket?

I want to see the Belt do well. People always say "Who?" when we tell them who we play for a reason. A team in the sweet 16 only helps name recognition.

Does it help WKU more than us? Of course it does.
Will it make them uncatchable? I don't believe it will anymore than what they already are. Let them win a few more games, however, and they really will be able to put something nice together.

Nonetheless, the recognition that they are getting and we want is attainable.

Great run that WKU put on UCLA. If Shipp doesn't hit the desperation 3 near the end to increase the lead to 9, they mighta won that game. Great rep for the Sunbelt.

I hope we kick their ass in Diddle next season.
