I think it depends. Like say if it comes down between UALR and us, I'd think they'd get the nod with the head to head win and what not. Would they wanna give the SBC two bids for example? Who knows.

I'd LOVE to keep playing - even if it is a fledgling tourney.

A lot of that might have to do, with whether or not....we get two NCAA bids.

If so, that may leave a spot in the NIT for one SBC team (UALR).
It might.....anyway.

I just think this inaugural CBI.....might get a lot of "no thanks" responses....and that's why I think we have a decent shot at a bid. I'd say...it's about 50-50.

Coach Leonard did seem to be a bit hopeful about postseason play last night now that I reflect on it. I guess we'll see.

This guy uses ESPN's NCAA projections to then project the NIT and CBI. Doesn't have us in. Granted, this is one guy - but it doesn't look good.

tcaa.puretecmo.com/bracket31008.html

And here is another guy's brackets for both NIT and CBI.

bracketproject.atspace.com/nit.html

Basically it appears that we'll need plenty of turn downs - which is possible.

That's a heckuva nut to have to come up with....if the host team must guarantee a $60,000 share (to the Gazelle Group) for hosting a home game.

I think that might make this a tough sell. I mean, how many tickets will a school sell to some tournament most fans are clueless about?

It would seem to basically ensure Power league schools hosting(based on attendance and/or ticket prices). Of course those are the same schools that would likely turn down such a game(or have crappy attendance for it) - as I read Mizzou's AD did today. He said NIT or nothing...wouldn't entertain the idea of the CBI.
