I don&#039;t think this game draws the local news.&nbsp; Unless I am mistaken, I don&#039;t remember seeing the local news for any of our games against TCU, SMU or Baylor in the past, and unless it is a slow sports night, UTA would be no different.&nbsp; If they do show a highlight or two, it will be from the host school&#039;s film that they send to the station.<br /><br />I love NT basketball, and like to find reasons to get excited about it, but this doesn&#039;t do it.&nbsp; It will provide moderately better attendance for each school, but beyond that, not much else.<br /><br />And if the UNT vs. UTA matchup on a stage is &quot;electric&quot;, then our standards for a great college atmosphere have apparently been crippled.

UTA and UNT will bring some of their own fans to the game. And it&#039;ll be a competitive game. <br /><br />And I remember UNT-UTA getting good coverage back when they played twice a year.&nbsp; TCU-UTA always gets a lot of coverage in the FWST. Basketball and baseball. Granted, a lot of the writeups are about TCU since they are the hometown school, but a lot of Arlington/Tarrant County residents read the Star Telegram as well. And you&#039;ll sometimes see highlights on TV--send one reporter or camera crew, cover 2 of the 4 local Division I schools with one report.

I see both points here.&nbsp; Coach is correct in that the local media won&#039;t care too much.&nbsp; Fans of both schools will care enough to travel to Arlington/Denton, and that should make the game more fun for the fans. <br /><br />
